3rd Easingwold Brownies go to the Ball!
On a recent Pack Holiday at Watson Scout Centre, the 3rd Easingwold Brownies held a “champagne” reception followed by a Ball. The theme of the weekend was Disney, and the team of the Young Leaders and Leaders (Chip – Gabby Bell, Tigger – Ilona Bell, Tinkerbell – Andrea Bell, Sully – Annie Gledhill, Pocahontas – Laura Varney and Mary Poppins – Pru Johnson) served “Bucks Fizz” and “Kir Royale” in fluted glasses to get the party started. (Actually there was a lot of lemonade drunk, but don’t tell the Brownies!) After a sumptuous banquet prepared by chef Mrs Potts (Elaine Stephens), the Leaders helped the “princesses” dance to music from the various Disney films. The Ball was a surprise thought up by the Pack Holiday team, so the girl’s parents were asked to secretly pack a special outfit for the event of the weekend. The rest of the time we made princess hats and wands, peg doll princesses, took a walk around the beautiful village of Carlton in Cleveland, played traditional Brownie games, sang songs and spent time in the garden on the adventure playground. We also ate lovely meals and generally had a marvellous time. Thanks must go to the team who made this all possible and worked very hard during the weekend to make this a Pack Holiday to remember.
