A Flying Visit for Alne Primary School

Minster Falconry from Sutton Park recently spent an afternoon talking to the school and allowing some lucky children - and teachers - to handle their birds.  Mrs Gallon “owlsat” a baby tawny owl while a European eagle owl and barn owl met everyone in the hall.  The barn owl had so much fun she decided to stay for a while and made herself comfortable on the projector! There was also a flying display in the field.  A peregrine falcon impressed everyone with her speed and agility.  Then a harris hawk showed more than a passing interest in the nearby chickens and guinea pigs.  Fortunately they had all been safely locked away!
