Alne Hall Fundraiser goes the whole hog !
Residents Taff, Kirsten, Rene and Philip, together with carers Nicky and Pat from the Leonard Cheshire Home Alne Hall were guests of honour at the annual Hog Roast and Ceilidh fundraising event held at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church Hall and Gardens last weekend.Over £ 1,000 was raised on the night, (with more donations to come) money that will go directly into the Residents Welfare Fund at the Leonard Cheshire Home, Alne Hall to enable residents to enjoy days out and other activities. With over 100 people attending the function, it was an action packed night of family fun with lots of dancing, to music supplied by the York based band ‘Hot Not Bothered’. Thankfully the weather was kind with no rain at all! Bringing parishioners and the wider local community together to raise funds for this worthwhile cause made for a fantastic social event enjoyed by all who attended. The organisers would like to thank everyone who helped make the event such a success and also the local businesses that kindly donated raffle prizes namely the Old Black Bull, Raskelf, The Three Tuns, Raskelf, Mi-Style, EasiTravel and S & J Butchers.
