Award Winner at Ampleforth
Anna Lupton, who runs a bed and breakfast business at the C16th Carr House Farm near Ampleforth, has won a silver award in the bed and breakfast and hotel section of The World’s Original Marmalade Festival, which was held at Dalemain Mansion and Gardens in Cumbria in February.The competition which is in its 10th year had over 800 entries from all over the world and funds were raised for the Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland. Paddington Bear is amongst the patrons of the charity along with Jasper Conran OBE and Caroline, Countess of Lansdale. Sponsors included Fortnum & Masons, Robertson’s, Tiptree and Roses. Guests staying with Anna will be able to enjoy this award wining marmalade at breakfast time and also sample some of the many homemade jams she creates. “There was a bumper crop of figs last year and I made over 40 lbs of fig and lime jam. Other exotic ones like apple and kiwi or sticky pineapple seem to be a favourite with guests too”. Full Article Archived News View All...
