Diamond Choir
St. Martin’s Ampleforth pupil, Rupert Waley (age 13) has been selected to sing with the Diamond Jubilee Choir in the presence of Her Majesty the Queen at St. Paul’s Cathedral. The Diamond Choir has been created to sing at the Service of Thanksgiving on Tuesday 5th June to mark the Queen’s Jubilee. The choir is made up of 40 specially selected choristers from across the UK aged between 11 and 13.Rupert Waley is joining with the 39 other children to sing a new choral work that has been written especially for this service by British Composer Will Todd. The Choral piece called “The Call of Wisdom” has words by Michael Hampel, and is based on a passage in the Old Testament Book of Proverbs (8:1-17): God says that even monarchs can only reign well and effectively if they use God’s wisdom as their guiding principle.
