Charrington Trophy - Saturday 28th April, unfortunately owing to adverse weather conditions this event was cancelled and will now  take place on the second Saturday in June.Doncaster v  Easingwold  -  Sunday 29th at Doncaster Bessacarr, again due to the weather this event was also cancelled. Lady Captains Coffee Morning - held on Friday 27th April.  Ann Stamp of “Snappy”, one of our lady captain’s chosen charities gave a very interesting talk on the work Snappy does working with children of all ages and helping them cope with various problems they may have. It’s very difficult work and made more so by the fact that the building they are having to work in is far below what they need and yet the rent they have to pay uses a large chunk of their already depleted budget.Without the dedication of people like Ann who give their time freely to provide these children with the love encouragement and support they need, they would not otherwise have the opportunity to develop into responsible adults. There was a very good turnout of ladies at the coffee morning, some of whom then had the opportunity to put their baking talents to the fore and in doing so supporting the cake stall which was the biggest fund raiser at this morning’s event with takings of £107.45.  The total money raised overall was approx £200.00. Appreciation goes to everybody for their support.Rhoda –  ee,  wor  Rhoda’s getting wed on Saturday May 6th , Rhoda met Chris 4 years ago and it was love at first sight, match made in heaven some would say.  Becky (Rhoda’s daughter ) says ‘she has never seen mum happier than when she is with Chris.Chris is besotted with our Rhoda and who can blame him. He’s a lucky man and I hope he appreciates the fact that he will regularly be getting the full benefit of her large yorkshire puddings and  hotpot !!Rhoda’s contributions on the catering front at the Club are much appreciated and to show our appreciation the ladies section had a whip round which was least we could do.  It’s  always a pleasure to be greeted by Rhoda’s  friendly face behind the bar and we all think the world of her.On behalf of all the ladies we hope that Rhoda and Chris spend many healthy and happy years wrapped up in marital bliss. Here we see Rhoda being presented with her Argos vouchers by Lady Captain Gay Enos. Ladies ‘B’ Team – won their match against Forest Park , which  was played on  Thursday 26th April at home The result was 4&3 to Easingwold.  Adverse weather conditions did not make for easy play but they got stuck in and got the job done,  well done the ‘B’team.Ladies  Medal – played Tuesday May 1st  today’s medal is combined with the alternate medal which will be played on Saturday May 5th therefore results will be published next week .Ladies 9 hole Competition – played Tuesday May 1st  Winner – J.A.MenziesSecond  - D.MaddenThird -    A.EastDon’t forget to put your names down for the Margaret Allen Trophy on May 13th and we still need more for the Bank Holiday Greensomes.Mabes Embleton
