Galtres Fitness Centre Super Heroes

The day began much like any other October day, dark, chilly and a little bit damp.  The milk deliveries were underway and as yet most were still soundly asleep in their beds.  It was 6am in Easingwold and all seemed normal. On his way to his early morning workout an unsuspecting gym member hits the brakes and stares incredulous...is it a bird?...is it a plane...No...It’s...MIGHTY MOUSE!?!?!   Convinced he is still asleep he rubs his eyes, however the giant yellow mouse is still there.   Thankfully Mr Padmore decided to give Mighty Mouse a lift and save any further shocks to the unsuspecting public. On Friday 7th October the Galtres Fitness Centre had a Super Staff upgrade.  Super Heroes new and old could be seen working out with the regulars and generally causing mayhem in the streets of Easingwold.  At the cake stand Banana Man and Superman were causing a stir.  Mighty Mouse and Wonder woman were running a Fitness Clinic, while Spiderman, Batman and Rambo were doing a stunning job selling Raffle tickets. Our resident Superheroes were on hand all day to help members new and old celebrate 10 years of Fitness. One of the greatest testaments to the Galtres Fitness Centre is the huge number of members who signed up in the first few months and are still active members today.  The Gym team would like to say a very special thank you to all those members for their continued support.  We would also like to let you the members know how much we enjoy working with you all and how it is you that makes this job so rewarding! The whole day was a celebration with the added aim of raising money for Yorkshire Air Ambulance.  The YAA relies solely on public donations to stay in service.  During the week raffle tickets were being sold all over Easingwold, and at this point we would like to say a huge thank you to the Boot Shop team for their stunning effort selling tickets, our target could not have been met without you all.  We would also like to thank all the local businesses that donated prizes.  The Sugar Mouse for their Awesome Giant bag of goodies. TeaHee for the voucher that will allow the lucky winner a wondrously gluttonous visit.  Dooleys for supporting the healthy side of fitness with their beautifully arranged fruit basket. The Hair Studio and Gillian Linfoot for the vouchers.  The Boot shop as well as being raffle superstars also donated some great prizes and the Gym of course added to the handsome pile of raffle prizes available. In addition to the raffle Nick Clark of Clarks Bakery donated a fantastic Gym themed Cake to get the celebrations off on the right sugary note!  Thank you Nick and everyone at Clarks!Last but by no means least an enormous thank you to Liz Earl from Taylors of Harrogate for their sponsorship of the day and providing tea and coffee for everyone! The total Raised for Yorkshire Air Ambulance was a stunning £550.00 which far exceeded our targets for the day and can be credited to the generosity of Easingwold!!!
