Raskelf Celebrates with Paul and Christine Jackson
20 years landlord and landlady of the Old Black Bull. 20 years ago Paul and Christine Jackson came to Raskelf with two very small children to take up the job of running The Old Black Bull. In that time Christine and Paul have worked so hard in making the pub into what it is now, the very heart of the community. To mark this achievement both Theakston and Heineken brewery representatives came to Raskelf to present Paul and Christine with glassware and a handmade barrel as a token of their thanks.Many village people packed into the pub to wish them well. Christine and Paul do a tremendous and what is becoming a very unique job these days in supporting the village. They support all the village teams providing cricket and tennis teas and supporting the village pool, darts and domino teams. They offer their hospitality once a month for lunch to Raskelf Church and cater for the harvest festival every year. They always support meetings for the village friends and every year Paul will prepare and cook the Christmas Dinner in the Village Hall for our older village residents.They annually support the gymkhana in many ways from meetings to sponsorship and supper after the show. Christine and Paul also fully support our Village Hall bar, without which the Village Hall would not be able to function as successfully as it does.Appreciation goes to Christine and Paul for everything you do, for also providing a warm welcome in our village in our local village pub.
