Sports Week at Alne Primary School
Alne Primary School’s Sports Week 2008 was a great success, with oodles of sports and activities taking place throughout the week.Aldwark Manor kindly donated their time and staff to Alne Primary School providing fun and exciting fitness sessions for Key Stage 2 children involving a variety of activities and prizes including family day passes to Aldwark Manor. They also got to try their hand at golf for a morning, learning all about the intricate technique of the sport.Charlie Travis from Reflections provided a fruit tasting morning for the Key Stage 1 pupils teaching them all about keeping healthy and healthy foods. Tu-Tu Funky visited the school and did some super dancing with the Reception and year 1 children, performing their routine for the rest of the school.A fantastic week was had by all with many more events including a karate lesson with Grahame Hunter and a visit from the York City Knights Cheerleaders.The week was finished off with an excellent sports day which involved lots of field events in the morning and exciting races including skipping, hurdling and beanbag during the afternoon, finished off with a healthy ice-cream for all, donated by Friends of Alne School.
