A group of volunteers in Easingwold have raised more than £1,500 to help fund world-leading cancer research by organizing a ‘Beat the January Blues’ evening.
The Galtres Volunteer Group hosted the Shepherd Group Concert Brass Band in support of Yorkshire Cancer Research.
Wendy Stirke, Chair of the volunteer group, said: “Not only did the event raise a great amount of money for Yorkshire Cancer Research, but I felt we all came away thoroughly entertained and completely uplifted.
The volunteer group is extremely grateful to the very talented Shepherd Group Concert Brass Band.”
The group welcomed 150 guests to the event, which included a raffle and a talk about the history of Yorkshire Cancer Research’s impact in the region given by charity representative Andy Wilson.
