FOREST OF GALTRES PRODUCE AND HANDICRAFT SHOW ...

There are nine Women's Institutes in the Forest of Galtres Group of WI's. Last Saturday, Sheriff Hutton Village Hall showcased the wonderful talent within the WI groups with an arts and craft showcase. All members of the Forest of Galtres group participated to make it run smoothly.

The categories on show included baking, preserves, floral displays, handicrafts, photography and art. It was a wonderful treat to see it all.

Skelton WI was the overall winner, with Alne WI coming a close second. Best in show was won by Marion Movely from Easingwold WI and Alne WI was thrilled that Gillian Carter got a special mention. Only missing best in show by a whisker, she was highly commended for her beautifully decorated wrapped parcel.

Di Hunter, Alne WI's president, announced all the winners. Sarah McFarlane, outgoing Chair of the North East Yorkshire National Federation, presented the prizes.
