Easter in Easingwold ...

Saturday 26th April, 2025

The local Methodist Church group, Christians Together Around Easingwold (CTAE), had a busy Holy Week culminating in the joy of the resurrection on Easter Day.

The different denominations of the Church had their own services during the week. CTAE observed Palm Sunday—the time Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey to show he would be a servant king—to Easter Day.

Good Friday brought members of all denominations around the cross to remember that Jesus died to enable humanity to draw closer to God, knowing sin will be forgiven.

Then, on Easter Day morning, bright and early, Christians gathered around the cross, now decorated with flowers, to share the joy of the resurrection.

The Light was taken from this service to each of the churches, representing the Light of Christ spreading throughout the town.
