On Thursday July 3rd, I was delighted to attend a lunchtime concert by Easingwold’s very own Jubilate Ladies’ Choir in the stunning surroundings of Ripon Cathedral.
Jubilate performed the final one in a series of lunchtime concerts and I can honestly say that I think the organisers had saved the best for last.
Jubilate’s programme included: Somewhere over the Rainbow, Autumn Leaves, If I Can Sing, Steal Away, Sing Jubilate Deo, plus a complex yet entertaining arrangement of This Old Man and There was an Old Man, aptly entitled Two for the Price of One!
A further treat was a sublime solo performance of I’ve Got You Under My Skin by Jubilate’s Musical Director, Amanda Crawley. The whole programme ably supported by their accompanist, Helen Smith.
An audience of over 100 people thoroughly enjoyed the concert and were very appreciative of the choir’s tonal qualities. The photo shows the choir in rehearsal, prior to the performance.
