The Easingwold Advertiser & Weekly News is a family-owned paper for Easingwold and the surrounding area

The inaugural Easingwold 10k and Family Fun Day took place on the 27th of July. The event was a huge success and hundreds of people came out to enjoy the day.
With a sell-out of 500 entries and great weather, the event which was a year in planning did not disappoint! It looks set to be a regular feature in the Easingwold calendar of summer activities.
Hopefully, the road closures necessary to let the event go ahead safely did not cause too much disruption. All event organisers and participants have great appreciation to those who were affected that made alternative arrangements for the short period of closures.
It was a great atmosphere both out on the course and in the market place as the runners were cheered along.
Runners were also overseen by an army of volunteer marshals, water station volunteers, and car parking volunteers, as well as first aid team and sweeper bus.
The York Mix DJ did a fantastic job at the start/finish line as they called out every runner who took part!
The Family Fun Day started at the same time as the run and had various activities and stalls for families to enjoy such as: outdoor games, bouncy castle, and face painting. Delicious food stalls at the event included: The Curious Pizza Co, TeaHee ice cream stall, and Mrs Biggles cupcakes and sweet treats stand.
We also had Easingwold Friends of Cancer Research on site who raised a fantastic £332.60 on the day.
The Fun Day also welcomed The Mojo’s, a fab dance party band, who played all the classic hits to get the crowd up and dancing!
All the event organisers are very much grateful to the Galtres Centre and all the providers on the day as well as volunteers who helped keep the the market place tidy – AMH Entertainment, Easingwold Friends of Cancer Research, Mrs Biggles, York Mix, The Curious Pizza Co, TeaHee, Emma Brown’s Face Painting, The Mojo’s, Barclays Community Social Team as part of the Easingwold Branch and Easingwold District Lions, Easingwold Town AFC and Easingwold Town Council for organizing the live music on the day.
