Imelda’s Lap for Children in Need...

I did it!

It was a beautiful, sunny, Autumn day on Friday 17th November. Perfect for tackling my one lap at Millfield Park to raise funds for Children in Need.

Dressed in my yellow Pudsey Bear onesie and with my husband, David, supporting me, I set off with my walker round the Park Run track.

Health issues mean that I struggle to breathe effectively and at 76 I have developed Stenosis of the spine. Since childhood I have benefitted from our marvellous NHS and this is my way of saying, thank you.

I was anxious at the start wondering if I could do one whole lap. About 5 years ago I managed it but not since.

I started slowly up the hill and gradually picked up speed. The walker has brakes which helped prevent a rapid descent before the meadow.
