Both teams started brightly with the first goal coming early on scored by Rhys off a quick-thinking throw-in from Kayden.
Rhys was able to run on to the throw-in and shrugged off the last defender in a 20 yd run confidently slotting into the corner of the goal.
Soon after that, Hayden, in goal for the Hawks, came rushing out to win a 50/50 challenge, stopping a certain goal.
But he picked up a knock and had to leave the field, Elsie switched from mid-field to go in goal with Connor taking up position in the middle.
The rest of the first half saw more opportunities for the Hawks, coming close several times with Rhys, Kayden and Will linking together well in attack.
At the other end, Elsie confidently kept goal with the Devils having some attacking play but the Hawks defending was up to it, with Tom distrupting several attacks.
The first half finished with both teams having good spells of attacking play but with the Hawk's pace in the forward line creating the most opportunities........
