Game 17 – Tuesday 8th July
Leaders Easingwold travelled to Hutton-le-Hole for this tripled bowls league match. Obviously, their fame had spread as even the midges turned up to greet them.
The away side took one rink by 16-13 but struggled on the other two as Hutton-le-Hole gained them by 23-15 and 22-14 for a shock victory.
Result Hutton-le-Hole 58 shots 7.5 points, Easingwold 45 shots 2.5 points.
Terrington 4th entertained Malton 2nd which could prove a tricky fixture for the away side.
Terrington had wins on two rinks by 15-10 and 14-11, unfortunately for the home side Malton struck back with a colossal victory on the other by 27-11 to seal the aggregate and achieve a tie.
Result Terrington 40 shots 5 points, Malton 48 shots 5 points.
Another close contest took place as 9th placed Harome welcomed Wigginton 8th.
This game had everything as only 3 shots separated them at the finish plus a draw on one rink.
The away side took rink 1 by 19-12 with the home side taking rink 4 by 21-11. Rink 2 was tied 15-15.
Final scores Harome 48 shots 6.25 points, Wigginton 45 shots 3.75 points. Both teams now on 53.75 points with Harome in 8th on shot difference.
Strensall in 5th travelled to Huby 6th with 2.25 points between them.
At halfway the home side led on rinks 1 and 2 by 13-4 and 12-5 with the away side up 17-5 on rink 3.
Huby went on to victories on rink 1 26-7 and 19-12 rink 2. Strensall triumphed on rink 3, 27-11. With an overall win by 56-46 in shots and 7.5-2.5 points Huby sneak back into 5th Stillington had a bye.
