Opening of the Autumn Suite at St Monica’s Hospital...

A newly refurbished Autumn Project Palliative Care suite has been opened at St Monica’s Hospital in Easingwold.

The Autumn Project has been launched across the York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to provide more private, comfortable and less clinical surroundings for patients and families experiencing end of life care.

On 27 February 2024 a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the suite was performed by Jade Barnes, Sister at St Monica’s Hospital, accompanied by both Rebecca Burbidge, Palliative Care Lead for the Trust, and some Trustees of the Friends of St Monica’s Hospital (FOSMH) who have supported the project both financially and with practical assistance.
