Easingwold welcomed local rivals Huby, hoping to get their challenge for the title off to a good start.

Huby Bowls Club only gained 5 Points out of 30 in the games against Easingwold in 2022, so it might be an uncomfortable night for them. The captains agreed to only play 16 ends due to the poor light.

After 4 ends Huby led by 4-2 on both Rinks 1 and 3 with Easingwold in front 6-2 and 3-2 on Rinks 2 and 4 respectively.

At halfway Huby were still in front on 1 by 7-4 and had dramatically come back on 2 to lead 10-6.

On Rink 3 Easingwold were now up 9-4 and stretched away on 4 to 10-2. After 12 ends Easingwold had sneaked in front on Rink 1 by 8-7, Huby were up 15-8 on 2, with Easingwold comfortably in front 13-5 and 19-3 on 3 and 4 respectively.
