Easingwold Hawks League Cup Final...

Saturday 6th May, 2023

Easingwold Hawks U11s have played their league trophy final against Brooklyn Lions U11s. The teams kicked-off at 12:30 on Sunday 30th April at Poppleton.

Brooklyn started the game with intent. They put early pressure on the Hawks which resulted in a goal in the opening minutes.

Easingwold retaliated immediately. A neat passing move found Christian on the edge of the box who powered a shot over the Brooklyn keeper to equalize.

The Hawks continued to press their opponents. Tom, Kayden and Morgan passed it around in defence and utilised the ball well through to the front three. Rhys worked hard up front against a strong Brooklyn defence and had a good couple of solo efforts at goal.

Easingwold then won a corner on the left which was beautifully floated into the box by Kayden and found Will but clipped his shot just wide.

It was then Brooklyn’s turn. They caught Easingwold on the break a number of times but couldn’t convert their chances. Alfie stood firm between the posts and pulled off some magnificent saves.

It was end to end throughout the first half. Rhys’ hard work up front finally paid off. There was more good passing from the Hawks’ midfield and Rhys finished it brilliantly into the bottom corner.
