Special Commemorative Service Celebrating the Coronation of King Charles III...

On Sunday 7th May, at Easingwold Parish Church there was a well attended special service held to commemorate the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III. It was led by the Revd. Margaret Young.

Also in attendance were David Kenworthy, Deputy Lieutenant of North Yorkshire, Peter Nottage, Easingwold Town Mayor, and Kevin Hollinrake, MP for Thirsk and Malton.

The service began with organ music ‘Prelude and Fugue in E Flat Major’ written by J.S. Bach. Following this was a procession of standards by Jim Cartwright and Andrea Jones from the Royal British Legion and by Saima Bennett from the Air Training Corp.

Old and New Testament readings were delivered by Alan Burroughs and David Kenworthy. Margaret gave a light-hearted and celebratory sermon. Her talk included examples of possible gifts to our new monarch which reflect on his new life of duty and service to the nation.
