CHARITY SHIELD MATCH...

On Sunday 19th May under a brilliant blue sky Easingwold and Stillington bowls clubs met for their annual 2 leg competition and charity raising event.

The first of the two games was held at Stillington and approx 40 players took part, each side trying for the maximum shots on a 14 end first round, the total being carried forward to the second game at Easingwold in July.

The eventual winning club taking the Jim Knapton/Frank Atkinson Trophy.

The day was opened by Nigel Marsh (capt' Stillington) and Andrew Mather (capt' Easingwold) who had drawn their respective teams.

The match was closely contested on a very fast green with a first round of 74 shots to 71 in Stillingtons favour and all played in a good friendly spirit.
