Barn Fire Near Newburgh and Oulston...

In this week's local fire brigade call outs, you may notice a barn fire report at Coxwold, Friday 31st October.

I came across this when I got up and took Jet (head of security at G H Smith & Son) out for his first walk of the day, we could see smoke drifting across the valley from Newburgh side towards Ampleforth. It was blending well with the low swirling mist.

When Jet and I were heading to work and driving through Coxwold, we came across a fire engine filling up from the village's water main near the cafe.

We then followed the same fire engine past Newburgh Priory up the Switch Backs and saw them turn off down a farm lane towards the fire.
