Have you seen people hard at work on the Easingwold Town Hall maintenance project when you’ve been in town? As you can imagine a building of this age requires constant maintenance to keep it looking in good condition.
Some of the bricks that form the arches over the doors and windows have chipped away with the weather. So, the building needed a bit of TLC to keep it looking lovely.
However, these historic bricks are no longer made. They are called rubbing bricks and are very soft, perfect for making arches. Traditional lime is used between each brick. To maintain the appearance of the building, specialist work was required.
