1st Easingwold Scout Group

Despite a world-wide pandemic, it’s a real delight to share some successes in Scouting. Back in 2017 the 1st Easingwold Scout Group embarked on the redevelopment of their outdoor centre – a Scouting venue set in 8 acres of pasture and woodland used and loved by the Scout Group, but also by the wider community. After assembling a small team with the necessary skills to deliver such a huge project, some 3 years later and after raising an astonishing £218,800 through fundraising, generous benefactors and grant aid, the Easingwold Outdoor Centre, known locally as “The Dawney”, is soon to be completed. Despite the arrival of Covid-19, the Team and Scout Group pushed on through some exceedingly difficult and challenging times delivering an amazing new facility for Scouts and the wider community to enjoy for many years to come. This has been a truly magnificent achievement for the Scout Group.
